Some interesting items of taxidermy look set to cause a stir amongst collectors when they go under the hammer later this month as part of an auction of former exhibits of the Stratford Armouries Museum. West Midlands’ auctioneers, Cuttlestones, has been commissioned to sell the collection based on the continued success of its quarterly Specialist Collectors’ sales, which includes extensive militaria and taxidermy sections.

Local auctioneer, Ben Gamble, has more to live up to then most when he takes part in his first Stafford Half Marathon (SHM) later this year in aid of Katherine House Hospice. While most entrants will be hoping to set a personal best, Ben is unlucky enough to be competing in the shadow of his illustrious namesake who just happens to be a three-time former winner of the event! 
 

Impressive sporting & military bronzes to come under hammer at museum sale

An impressive group of decorative bronzes will go under the hammer at the Stratford Armouries Auction on Saturday 28th March. The works, which depict figures of historical and military significance such as Leonardo Da Vinci, a Bedouin Prince on horseback, and a huntsman with hounds amongst others, would lend an air of magnificence to any country home or club, and are sure to be of interest to potential collectors of militaria or country sports.
