The penultimate Fine Art sale of the 2015 calendar took place at Cuttlestones’ Penkridge salerooms on Friday 11th September – and it certainly did not disappoint. Amongst the ever-popular categories of jewellery, silver, ceramics, and furniture one or two more unusual items caught the eye of the bidders on the day; producing some standout hammer prices as a result.

Race mementos from British cycling history to go under the hammer

A collection of rare and unique items detailing the rich history of competitive cycling in Britain, including an illustrious ‘Yellow Jersey’ worn by the winner of the 1966 Milk Race, is set to go under the hammer later this summer. Cuttlestones auctioneers, which has salerooms in both Penkridge and Wolverhampton, will sell the items at its Specialist Collectors’ sale on Friday 14th August.

Specialist armour and military sale a booming success with £8k cannon

Saturday 28th March saw the Cuttlestones team travel down to Warwickshire to stage the much anticipated Specialist Armour and Military auction of a single, private collection held at Stratford Armouries Museum. Given the wealth of rare and interesting items up for grabs as a result of the Museum’s change of direction – to re-focus its efforts on telling the stories of the English Civil War, WWI and WWII through its significant collections relating to these conflicts – the resulting sale did not disappoint.
