examines and antique find – how will your skills measure
up at this year’s County Show competition?

Staffordshire auctioneers and valuers Cuttlestones is offering visitors to the 2011 County Show the chance to win a year’s subscription to the BBC Homes and Antiques Magazine. Those with an eye for antiques will be able to test their skill and judgment by placing a series of antiques in the correct date order; from the oldest to most recent. The winner will then be drawn from any correct entries as MD and Head Auctioneer, Ben Gamble, explains:

We had a great response to our ‘guess the use of the antique’ competition at last year’s County Show and really enjoyed getting people involved with hands-on inspection of antiques, so this year we decided to run a similar competition. It will still be a real challenge to decide in which order the antique items should be placed, so it will be a test of skill – but you never know if some lucky guesses may slip through!

The prize this year is brilliant and we’d like to thank BBC Magazines for its generosity – whoever wins the subscription will learn a great amount about antiques and also pick up some fantastic tips for decorating their home – no doubt we’ll see them return as defending champions to the 2012 year’s show armed with even more impressive knowledge!

To be in with a chance of winning the year’s subscription to BBC Homes and Antiques Magazine, simply visit Cuttlestones on stand R268 at the 2011 Staffordshire Country Show, which is taking place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd June.
