Tat or Treasure? Find out at Cannock charity valuation day

Posted on

If you think you could have a hidden treasure in your home and would like to know what it is worth, Cuttlestones’ MD & Head Auctioneer Ben Gamble will be hosting a charity valuation day at the Newlife Superstore in Cannock on Saturday 24 August.

Cannock based Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is Cuttlestones’ charity of the year for 2013 and proceeds from the valuation day will be used to help fund specialist equipment for under-19s in Staffordshire.

The fundraising event will take place at the Newlife Superstore in Hemlock Way, Cannock, from 10am to 2pm, with a valuation charge of £1 for each item.

Ben said: “Public valuation days are always great fun as you never know what people are going to bring through the door – we've uncovered some real treasures before! The fact that this event is helping raise funds for such a worthwhile cause makes it even more fun – we'd urge people to bring along anything they'd like to find out more about – from treasured heirlooms to unusual items that they just don't have a clue about. Sometimes the most valuable pieces are the ones you'd least expect, and even if it turns out your items aren't particularly valuable you'll have helped raise funds for a fantastic cause.”
