day on Saturday 24th September.

The recently refurbished Joules Brewery Royal Oak in Eccleshall High Street is set to play host to an antiques valuation day from 1pm until 3pm on Saturday, 24th September. The ‘antiques roadshow’ style event will see experts from leading Staffordshire auction house Cuttlestones share their knowledge on antiques and family heirlooms brought in by members of the public.

Dave Eglington, auctioneer and valuer at the Penkridge-based firm, which has recently expanded to open a second sale room in Wolverhampton city centre, says:

We’re really looking forward to hosting our first Eccleshall valuation day, and the Royal Oak provides a fitting venue. It’s a fabulous historic building and it’s great to see what a fantastic job landlord Neale and the Joules Brewery team have done in terms of restoring it to its full glory. Over the years we’ve made some seriously valuable finds during valuation roadshows and you literally never know what people have hiding away in the back of their cupboards or stowed in the attic – we’d urge anyone who’s keen to find out more about their items of interest to come along for a free, no obligation valuation – you never know, but you could be sitting on a small fortune!

The valuation roadshow is set to take place at The Royal Oak, Eccleshall High Street between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, 24th September. No appointments are required and the Cuttlestones team will be on hand to share knowledge on antiques and collectables ranging from medals and militaria through to paintings, ceramics, jewellery, silver, gold – and everything in between, with a free home visit available for larger items such as furniture.
