Penkridge’s fortnightly auctions to switch from Wednesday to Thursdays

Posted on

Cuttlestones’ Auctioneers & Valuers is set to switch the regular fortnightly Home & Antiques sales at its Pinfold Lane sale rooms from Wednesdays to Thursdays from mid-August.

The move will mean auctions no longer take place on the same day at the popular Penkridge Market, which shares the site, and will make parking and collection easier for bidders. MD and Head Auctioneer, Ben Gamble, says:

“This is a move we’ve had in mind for a while now. Historically, the auction and market used to take place on the same day and worked well – however, as the market has got busier and more people arrive at both events in cars it’s become increasingly trickly logistically for both parties to run on the same day. We believe this move will be mutually beneficial allowing both the auction and the market the space they need to run effectively.

“Our Home and Garden auctions have seen a renaissance in the past 10 years and now see a quality and diverse range of lots pass through – from brand new and pre-loved modern furniture to vintage and classic pieces, garden furniture and ornaments and even white goods, so the new date will allow us to accommodate the increasing number of bidders.”

The first Thursday Home & Antiques auction at the sale will be Thursday 11th August, followed by Thursday 25th August; Thursday 8th September; Thursday 6th October; Thursday 20th October; Thursday 3rd November; Thursday 17th November and Thursday 15th December. The sale room’s two forthcoming Fine Art Sales will also move to Thursdays – taking place on 22nd September and 1st December respectively. Viewing will take place on Wednesdays and on the morning of the sale.
