Introducing our new Wolverhampton Auction Rooms Manager

Posted on

Richard Forrester, Wolverhampton Saleroom Manager

It’s all change at Wolverhampton Auction Rooms! With Tom having recently said farewell to pursue a career on the stage, Richard Forrester has taken on the mantle of Sale Room Manager, meaning that visitors will still be dealing with a face they recognise.

Richard has worked at Cuttlestones for the past three years, so knows how the auction room works inside out and, with a keen interest in all things military and sporting, relishes the prospect of what may come through the auction room doors each day for valuation:

I love anything that has a story to tell – and we’ve had some fantastic lots come through the auction rooms over the years from signed sporting and music memorabilia to items of huge historic interest like the sword pistol with links to Admiral Lord Nelson. The fact that you never really know what customers will bring in through the door or what you’ll find in the next house clearance is what makes this job so interesting, plus meeting people and hearing the stories behind the items they bring in.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys repairing and ‘upcycling’ old and retro bikes he buys at auction. A keen bike rider, he also enjoys watching and playing football and is a regular member of Cuttlestones’ annual five-a-side team that plays in the annual Antiques Trade Gazette Auctioneers Vs Dealers charity football match held in London.
