Cuttlestones’ Ben Gamble and Rev Mark Bridgen;
vicar at St Lawrence Church, Gnosall

St Lawrence Church, Gnosall is hosting an ‘Antiques Road Show’ on Saturday 13th October 2012 to raise funds for the various charities that the church supports, both locally and nationally. The church is joining forces with local auction house Cuttlestones, which has sale rooms in Penkridge and Wolverhampton, to offer the chance to find out what those treasured family heirlooms or antique pieces stashed away in the attic are really worth.

The event will take place from 10am until 1pm, and valuations will be charged at £1 per item, with the public invited to bring along up to a maximum of five items that they would like valued.  Refreshments will be available and Ben Gamble, Head Auctioneer at Cuttlestones, will give a short talk on antiques and collecting before the valuations start. The vicar at St Lawrence, Rev Mark Bridgen, who is organising the event, says:

We’re always looking for new ways to help boost the church’s funds which, in turn, will allow us to give away more of our income at the end of the year to worthy causes; both in the local area and further afield.  An Antiques Road Show seemed like a good way to draw in the crowds – people are always curious to find out what their bargain finds and family heirlooms are really worth, and maybe some of our visitors will find that they have some ‘cash in the attic’. We’re really looking forward to working with Ben and his team and are grateful for their support.

The is St Lawrence Church, Gnosall, Antiques Road Show will take place at the church, which lies off Glebe Lane in the village, on Saturday 13th October 2012 from 10am – 1pm. Valuations will be charged at £1 per item, with all proceeds going directly toward the church’s fundraising efforts. Please bring no more than five items per person for valuation.
