Donated items raise in excess of £2,800 for Katharine House Hospice at auction

Posted on

A number of lots donated by kindly vendors to raise funds for Stafford’s Katharine House Hospice went under the hammer at Penkridge auction house Cuttlestones’ 2nd December Fine Art Sale, raising in excess of £2,800 for the charity.

The contents of an impressive wine cellar, originating from a lady keen to support the worthy cause, was split into a number of lots and fetched some £2202. Meanwhile a hand crafted rocking horse, donated by a gentleman whose wife is presently a patient at the hospice, sold for £600. All proceeds from the sale of these lots, on which Cuttlestones waived commission charges, went direct to the hospice. Corporate Fundraiser at Katharine House, Kelly Day, says:

We would like to thank the kind people who donated these goods as they have raised a vital amount for the Hospice. We are grateful to Cuttlestones for selling these for us free of charge and for all their support to the Hospice.

Cuttlestones is proud to support such a worthwhile local charity, as MD and Head Auctioneer, ben Gamble, explains:

Katharine House provides an essential service to the local community; so many lives are touched by its work and you literally never know when you – or someone near and dear to you – may need its support; so we’re delighted to be able to help these generous donors to raise funds for the hospice. We’re keen to continue our support and will gladly sell other donated items on behalf of vendors who wish to donate to proceeds to Katharine House in the future.
