Cuttlestones’ valuers to lend a hand at ‘flog-it’ style vintage-themed event in aid of cot death charity

Posted on

Lovers of vintage style will be in for a treat on Sunday, 28th April as The George Hotel in Burslem plays host to an event aimed at helping raise funds for FSID, the cot death charity.

Visitors are invited to bring along their treasured trinkets or unwanted antiques for a ‘Flog it’ style valuation, where they will have their items appraised by experts from Staffordshire auction house Cuttlestones in return for a £1 donation to the cause. In addition to valuations, there will the chance to browse over 30 vintage and handmade stores in the ‘Ballroom Boutique’, with added atmosphere courtesy of live music all day from artists including Rain, Shotokan Disco, String of Pearls, The Mill and One Productions taking part in a ‘Sing for Bling’ spectacular.

A vintage tea room and hairdressing salon will also be open throughout the day, offering visitors a taste of great British baking alongside the chance to leave the event with their tresses in the style of their favourite era.

The event is being organised by Georgina Salt of Re-Love Vintage, in support of a local family’s drive to raise over £30,000 for The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID); the UK's leading baby charity aiming to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health. Georgina says:

As a new mum it’s unthinkable what parents who lose a baby must go through, so I am very keen to help support this drive to raise much-needed funds toward the essential research, care and support work offered by the FSID. Vintage style is becoming increasingly popular – both in the home and fashion – so I teamed up with fellow vintage businesses to help organise an event that we hope will not only be great fun but help raise plenty of cash for this very worthy cause.”

The Boutique Ballroom event will take place from 11am – 5pm on Sunday, 28th April at The George Hotel in Burslem, with entry costing £1. ‘Flog it’ style valuations will be available for an additional £1 donation per item. For further information on the charity please visit
