Cuttlestones Auctioneers & Valuers, which has auction rooms in both Penkridge and Wolverhampton, is set to raise funds for Cannock-based charity the Newlife Foundation throughout 2013.

From its headquarters in Cannock, the Newlife Foundation takes action to help disabled and terminally ill children across the UK. Established in 1991, the charity supports all babies and children with significant disabilities, their carers and families; from providing essential nursing care, advice and assistance through to funding research and running campaigns to help raise awareness of the needs of disabled and terminally ill children. This is the second year that Cuttlestones has nominated to support a local charity, as MD and Head Auctioneer, Ben Gamble, explains:

We’ve always been keen to support good causes, but found in the past that our efforts were being spread very thin due to the sheer number of charities we raised funds for. Last year we elected to focus our efforts on raising funds for a single, local charity for the first time and the results really paid off – we were delighted to present them with a cheque for just over £8,000. This year, we’ve chosen the Newlife Foundation – it is a locally based charity that does amazing work for children who desperately need equipment and support across the UK, and we’re proud to be associated with such a worthy cause.

We’re once again aiming to raise a minimum of £8,000 which should hopefully make a real difference to the lives of some of the children the charity helps – whether it’s by purchasing a single, essential item of equipment or providing their families with the support they need to care for them. We’ve got a number of exciting fundraising event and activities in the pipeline throughout 2013 and the whole team is getting involved. You can’t fail to be moved by the work this charity does and the stories of how it has helped change young lives for the better are truly inspiring.”

Newlife CEO Sheila Brown, OBE, added:

We are delighted that Cuttlestones has chosen Newlife as its charity of the year and look forward to getting involved with some of the exciting fundraising activities they have got lined up.

“Every day Cuttlestones values items for its business but it also values the support and services Newlife Foundations offers to families and wants to be a part of improving the lives of disabled and terminally ill children locally.”
