Chance to bag a bridal bargain at local auction…

Posted on

Budget-conscious brides to be will be particularly interested to hear that a collection of over 60 bridal gowns by such well-known designers as Alfred Angelo, Urban Couture, Emmanuel, Sposa, Marc Le Carr and Pronuptia is set to come under the hammer next Wednesday, 23rd November at Penkridge auction house Cuttlestones.

The designer gowns, many of which are brand new and some worn but in excellent condition, are being sold on behalf of a lady who is closing down her bridal gown hire business. With styles that range from the traditional through to vintage and modern, there’s something to suit every taste.

Alongside the bridal gowns are a host of accessories including silk flower bouquets, jewellery, shoes, veils and hooped petticoats – in short, anything the bride could want to complete her outfit for her big day – in addition to bridesmaid dresses, occasion wear, prom dresses and ball gowns.

Auctioneer at Cuttlestones, Dave Eglington, says:

“We never quite know what will come through the door next at Cuttlestones, but I have to say this is one of the most unusual consignments we have been asked to sell. The gowns really are beautiful and present brides planning their weddings with a very rare opportunity to snap up a designer dress for potentially a lot less than its retail value. In fact, I wish we’d had these gowns in before my wedding in 2009 – we could have saved a small fortune!

The sale will take place form 10am on Wednesday, 23rd November at Cuttlestones’ sale room off Pinfold Lane, Penkridge. The gowns will be available to view from 10am ‘til 7pm on Tuesday 22nd and interested parties unable to attend on sale day will be able to leave commission bids on the lots.
