Antiques & Interiors Sale Report: Wednesday, 29th July 2020
Friday, 24 July, 2020
Prices continued to skyrocket during our most recent online Antiques & Interiors auction, with strong performances across the board. This produced a truly diverse range of highlight lots – ranging from ceramics to advertising signs, toys to vintage fashion – even a motorcycle and a gun - with many achieving well over their estimated value, as our MD & Head Auctioneer, Ben Gamble, explains:
“The trend for great results at our online auctions is continuing – we’ve got a global audience of engaged bidders who are willing to part with their cash, so there really has never been a better time to sell at auction. We were particularly impressed by the interest – and subsequent prices achieved – for ‘traditional’ ceramics which, until recently, held limited appeal. Lot 131, a tray of Royal Albert Floral Crown teaware, which a few months ago would have struggled to achieve £100, saw the hammer fall at a remarkable £950; whilst Lot 125 – a tray of mixed Wedgwood Jasperware – achieved £320.
These are the kinds of things that many households have so, in short, there’s never been a better time to sell – why not clear out the clutter or part with that tea service that’s been languishing in the loft for the past decade?”
